FMM Hosts Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebrations for Brentwood Residents

Ferro, Mangano, Manolakis, P.C. has hosted an Annual Community Cinco de Mayo Celebration every May 5th since opening its Brentwood Law Center in 2010. The celebrations include free food, live music, prizes, face painting and entertainment for kids, as well as a live broadcast from the “Almorzando Con Cantaso” radio program, which airs daily on La Fiesta Radio, 98.5 FM. This year, approximately 300 Brentwood residents attended the party.

These events provide opportunities for our firm to bring the local community together. The Cinco de Mayo Celebration also kicks off a number of summer events which, in the past has included free prostate screening exams, water distribution for day laborers, and floats in the Adelante Puerto Rican/Hispanic Parade.

FMM Distributes Halloween Candy in Jackson Heights

On Halloween 2012, William Ferro and the staff of FMM’s Jackson Heights office gathered in the wake of Hurricane Sandy to distribute water bottles full of candy and treats to neighborhood trick-or-treaters. The community was having such a good time that three trips had to be made to the local convenience store to replenish the candy supplies! Over 1,200 bottles were passed out. “It was great to see smiling faces after all the sadness of the past few days,” remarked Mr. Ferro.

FMM Honored at the 19th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser of the Workplace Project

FMM was recognized for its ongoing community work at the Workplace Project’s 19th Anniversary Gala. The Workplace Project, based in Hempstead, supports immigrant workers through education, leadership training and community organizing.

FMM partnered with the Workplace Project to organize a backpack drive, collecting school supplies for local disadvantaged students. The firm also coordinated with the Workplace Project to provide free flu vaccines to over 200 day laborers as risk of illness. FMM has further demonstrated its commitment to Long Island’s immigrant worker population with frequent distributions of water bottles to prevent dehydration.
